Project Details

After hail damage affected several windows throughout the home, these Parker homeowners decided to move beyond their original builder-grade aluminum windows and invest in replacement windows designed to improve comfort, efficiency and long-term resale value. The existing windows lacked argon gas insulation and featured traditional grilles that interrupted views and limited natural light in several rooms.

Working with the Pella Denver team, the homeowners selected vinyl windows with grille-free glass and updated insulating performance to create a cleaner, more open appearance throughout the home.

Grille-Free Picture Windows Create Cleaner Views and More Natural Light

One of the homeowners’ biggest goals was removing the existing window grilles that divided the glass and made the rooms feel more closed off. The new grille-free picture windows and sliding windows immediately changed the appearance of spaces throughout the home, including the front bay windows, bedrooms and upper-story feature windows.

Without grilles interrupting the glass, the windows now bring in more natural light while creating clearer views of the surrounding landscape. In spaces like the bedroom sitting area, the larger uninterrupted glass makes the room feel brighter and more open compared to the previous builder-grade windows.

The updated windows also refreshed the home’s exterior appearance while maintaining window sizes and configurations that fit the original architecture.

Energy-Efficient Vinyl Windows Improve Comfort in Colorado Sun

The original aluminum windows offered limited insulation and allowed noticeable heat transfer during warmer months. To improve energy efficiency and everyday comfort, the homeowners selected Pella® 250 Series vinyl windows with foam-insulated frames and SunDefense™ Low-E insulating glass with argon gas.

After installation, the homeowners noticed an immediate improvement in how the home handled direct sunlight. Rooms that previously became overly warm during sunny parts of the day now stay more comfortable while still benefiting from natural light.

Several windows also incorporated specialty obscure glass to improve privacy without reducing daylight.

Replacement Windows Completed in Just Two Days

Before beginning the project, the homeowners were concerned about how disruptive the installation process might feel with multiple windows being replaced throughout the home, including elevated architectural windows that required specialized installation access.

The installation team completed the project in just two days instead of the four days the homeowners originally expected. Careful coordination helped minimize disruption while still accommodating custom trim details, drywall cutbacks and specialty window configurations, including the large half-circle feature window above the garage.

Updated cedar trim around several windows also helped integrate the new picture and sliding windows into the home’s exterior design.

Replacement Windows Modernize a 33-Year-Old Parker Home

overall feel of the home. Removing the grilles created a more streamlined appearance while helping interior spaces feel brighter and more visually connected to the outdoors.

By replacing outdated builder-grade aluminum windows with energy-efficient vinyl picture windows, sliding windows and single-hung windows, the homeowners improved comfort, modernized the home’s appearance and created clearer outdoor views throughout the property.
