When a Dayton homeowner embarked on a full-house renovation, they turned to our expert team at Pella of Dayton to transform their living spaces. This project showcases how customization can elevate both form and function in window design while complementing Dayton's unique blend of Midwestern charm and industrial heritage.

Retractable Screens Offer Function and Versatility

The majority of the replacements were casement windows, featuring Pella's innovative Rolscreen® retractable screens. These screens provide on-demand insect protection and unobstructed views, seamlessly disappearing when not in use. This clever feature allows the homeowners to enjoy the best of both worlds: clear sightlines of Dayton's tree-lined streets and practical functionality during the city's warm summers and crisp autumns.

Custom Windows Elevate Design Inside and Out

The homeowners took full advantage of our customization options to create windows that perfectly complemented their vision. They chose a dual-color scheme: crisp white for the interior to create a light, airy atmosphere, and a rich tan exterior to harmonize with the home's brick façade — a nod to Dayton's prevalent brick architecture, reminiscent of its industrial past. Adding another layer of personalization, the homeowners opted for custom grille patterns with Integral Light Technology. These decorative grids create an authentic look of true-divided-light windows and allow for a unique, tailored look that sets their windows apart.

Awning Windows Bring the Outdoors in While Maximizing Convenience

In the kitchen, we installed white awning windows above the sink. This strategic placement combines practicality with style. Awning windows, which open outward from the bottom, are ideal for this location as they're easy to operate and provide excellent ventilation — perfect for airing out the kitchen after cooking. They also allow for an unobstructed view of the outdoors while working in the kitchen, connecting the home with the lush landscape of their backyard.
