Project Scope

In Tulsa’s up-and-coming suburb of Jenks, Oklahoma lies a 1970s home full of character and charm. After years of wear, the homeowners decided it was time to upgrade their front door to something more durable. When we met these homeowners, they made it clear that they wanted to retain the original charm of the home while still having a safe and durable front door. Keeping that in mind, our experts at Pella of Oklahoma knew exactly what to recommend.

Fiberglass Front Door Offers Trustworthy Durability

When it comes to finding the perfect fiberglass front door, it’s important to know what you’re looking for. For these homeowners, durability was a top priority. Their old wood door was showing signs of rot and wear. Compared to wood doors, fiberglass offers significant performance improvements, primarily because they are rot-resistant. They also won’t corrode or rust over time and provide excellent insulation and energy efficiency.

Get the Look of Wood Without the Maintenance

Another important point that these homeowners made was to prioritize the 1970s charm of the entryway. While they wanted the durability of a fiberglass front door, they also wanted the warmth of a wood front door. For this reason, we recommended they add a wood grain finish to their new door to give the appearance of actual wood. The light color of the door matched the exterior of the home perfectly.

Solid Fiberglass Gives Peace of Mind with Privacy

One perk of choosing a solid fiberglass front door is the chance to maximize privacy. As their old front door didn’t have windows, the homeowners decided they wanted to stick with a solid door to ensure privacy throughout their entryway.

With a brand-new front door, these homeowners were very happy with their entryway upgrade. Staying true to their 1976 home’s aesthetic while still providing safety and durability was very important to them. We’re happy to have accomplished what these homeowners were looking for and are sure they will enjoy their new front door for years to come.
