Nestled in the Berkshire Hills, Williamstown boasts beautiful mountain views and walking trails. We worked with local architects on the construction of a new modern farmhouse built on gorgeous mountainous acreage. To fit the design specifications, we provided Pella Reserve — Traditional windows and doors that further the modern farmhouse style of this rural retreat.

One of the biggest benefits of Pella Reserve is the ability to customize windows and doors to suit each home’s unique needs. In the top part of the home, our experts encountered a unique design challenge. The architects' design included five cupolas that protrude from the home's roof. They envisioned large windows that would mimic the roofline and allow natural light to pour into the home from above. We created custom windows that were eight feet wide and over six feet tall with a pitch in the bottom to match the rooflines. Like the look of a lighthouse, these cupolas bring East Coast style to this modern farmhouse.

Often grouped together, large windows with thin grilles are a staple of farmhouse design. Contemporary design often calls for sleek, clean lines with special emphasis placed on natural lighting. Awning and double-hung windows are also common in the modern farmhouse with black being a common color choice. This home emulates these design principles with stunning windows throughout the space. The windows are not only a beautiful focal point of the home’s exterior but also allow the afternoon sunlight to pour inside.

The custom wood windows feature stained black frames on the interior and extruded black aluminum-clad exteriors. They’re fitted with our low-maintenance, aluminum-clad exteriors to resist chalking and fading.
