Formerly a historic mining town, the small town of Midlothian, Virginia is located west of Richmond and has developed as a prominent suburb with many newly constructed neighborhoods popping up. We partnered with Blue Ridge Custom Homes to provide black windows and doors to enhance the farmhouse style of the new Midlothian home they built.
Black Windows & Patio Doors Further Farmhouse Style
With a unique look and feel, this home’s exterior features white brick with white wood accents. The dark color of the black windows and doors offers a nice contrast with the lighter white color. Staying true to the modern farmhouse style, the thin top grilles of the double-hung windows showcase clean lines and clear views through the bottom half of the windows. The sleekness of the fiberglass windows and wood pillars create a one-of-a-kind look for this home. Overall, these windows and doors offer a modern touch to this beautifully designed farm-style home. The light and airy kitchen of this home is a perfect example of the way these windows hone in on that contemporary farmhouse aesthetic. Paired with clean, simple lines, a neutral color palette and rustic furnishings, these windows create a comfortable yet sophisticated home.
Sliding Patio Doors Offer Opportunities for Indoor/Outdoor Living
The large black patio doors offer a great opportunity for indoor/outdoor living. With ample natural light and airflow, the sliding doors open up into a screened-in porch, perfect for year-round entertainment. The screened-in porch is a great opportunity for these homeowners to experience the joys of nature while still being comfortable. From the porch, the two-panel sliding door provides easy dining room and kitchen access while the large four-panel French sliding door provides a grand opening to the adjacent living room.
Fiberglass Windows and Wood Clad Doors Weather Virginia Climate
With enjoyable spring and fall seasons, Virginia has a very diverse climate. Fiberglass windows offer longevity and peace of mind when it comes to adapting to the area’s changing weather. These windows are designed to withstand large temperature swings and have a heavy-duty powder-coat finish to ensure long-lasting beauty. The wood patio doors are also weather-resistant and fitted with exterior aluminum cladding to prevent wood rot, fading and chalking.
By leaning into the principles of modern farmhouse design, we were able to help outfit this home with black windows and doors that stay true to its aesthetic. With clear lines of sight and an emphasis on complementing both the light exterior and interior of the home, these new windows and doors truly elevate the look of this space.
