New Bay Window Adds Curb Appeal and Comfort for an Aurora Home

The windows in this Aurora, CO home had seen better days. The homeowner was dealing with significant air leakage, ripped screens and windows that were difficult to open and close. Beyond being an inconvenience, the condition of the windows affected comfort and energy efficiency—especially during Colorado’s seasonal swings.

Looking to improve both the look and feel of the home, the homeowner partnered with our team at Pella Denver for a full replacement project that focused on the living room, master bedroom, and den. The solution? Two new sliding windows and a custom bay window that would transform the front of the house.

One of the standout features of this project was converting a traditional three-sash window into a stunning new bay window. Adding a bay window provided more than just great curb appeal; it also created a comfortable perch for the family’s rescue dog to relax in the sunshine and keep an eye on the neighborhood. According to the homeowner, the pup now loves to nap there at night, too.

The Pella 250 Series bay window was installed with a roof and skirt system, giving it a clean, finished look that blends beautifully with the home's original exterior. Inside, new stools, aprons and picture-frame trim completed the upgrade with fresh, bright-white finishes that match the home’s interior palette.

In addition to the bay window, two Pella 250 Series sliding windows were installed in the master bedroom and den. These new windows are built with dual-pane, Low-E insulating glass filled with argon gas, helping to reduce heat transfer and improve year-round comfort. The updated design also ensures easier operation and better performance in Colorado’s high-altitude conditions.
