Project Details

This Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, home was built in 1920 and still housed its original windows. The old windows were very drafty and damaged, and the homeowners knew it was time for an update. They wanted to replace all windows in the home with high-performing, yet historically accurate, windows.

Historical Detailing and Custom Window Grilles Further Traditional Aesthetic

The homeowners updated the exterior of their historic home, replacing their old wood windows with new windows that still match the original architectural style. In search of traditional windows with authentic designs, the homeowners found that Pella Reserve wood windows were the perfect solution.

They added custom grilles to further the classic look. The traditional grille pattern adds an eye-catching, intricate element that helps complete the historic aesthetic. Our innovative Integral Light Technology® grilles with the industry’s only foam spacer solution capture the look of true-divided-light without sacrificing energy performance. The putty profile of Pella Reserve – Traditional windows recreates historically accurate angles to provide meaningful depth and a realistic shadow. In fact, Pella Reserve windows offer the industry’s deepest sash dimension. From innovative grilles to a historic putty profile, the new wood double-hung windows feature uncompromised attention to detail and beautifully match the historical authenticity of the original windows.

Energy-Efficient Wood Windows Deliver Exceptional Savings and Comfort Year-Round

The new wood windows improve energy efficiency, affording the homeowners with the aesthetic, comfort and savings they desire. The glass on these windows is designed to slow heat transfer and is optimized for the climate in this area. Proper installation is key for these windows to perform at their best, so the homeowners opted for professional installation to ensure they get the most out of their investment. The new energy-efficient windows help the homeowners save on their utility bill and add comfort to their home year-round.

Aluminum-Cladding Protects Wood Window Exteriors

Durable aluminum-cladding on the new wood windows protects the exteriors and resists chalking and fading. It will also protect the wood windows from the elements, helping to resist rot, corrosion and the effects of moisture so they will look great and function properly for years to come.

The homeowner was delighted to see their old historic home brought to life again with new windows. Replacing the wood windows was a total upgrade aesthetically, refreshing the look of the entire home. The homeowners now benefit from enhanced curb appeal, improved energy efficiency and wood protection. See other project details from the local Pella Philadelphia showroom.
