When hail damaged two sides of their home, the homeowners knew they needed durable, energy-efficient windows and doors, but they didn’t want to lose the look they loved. Since the front and one side of the home were untouched, it was important that any new windows blend in seamlessly with the existing style.
Our team partnered with the homeowners to find the right match—windows and doors that would preserve the home’s classic look while delivering modern performance. Lifestyle Series wood windows in a brown EnduraClad® finish and traditional grille profiles offered the perfect blend of old and new, creating a finished look that felt original to the home.
High-Performance Glass for Kansas Weather
The original windows had been in place since 1997 and were starting to show their age—drafts, foggy glass and inconsistent performance were all signs it was time for a change. The homeowners wanted an upgrade that would enhance energy efficiency and comfort, especially in the living room, kitchen and upper bedrooms that see a lot of sunlight and seasonal temperature swings.
To deliver on those goals, we installed Lifestyle Series casement and picture windows with Low-E insulating glass and argon gas. These energy-efficient upgrades provide reliable thermal performance year-round and help reduce UV exposure that can fade furniture and flooring over time.
With U-Factors as low as 0.22 and Solar Heat Gain Coefficients of 0.24–0.31, the new glass makes a noticeable difference in both utility costs and indoor comfort.
A Custom-Fit Sliding Door Solution
As part of the project, the homeowners also wanted to update their patio door to match the refreshed look and improved performance of their new windows. The team recommended a Lifestyle Series sliding patio door with the same brown EnduraClad exterior finish and between-the-glass grille pattern.
The result is a beautiful, functional transition from the interior living space to the outdoor deck—one that looks just right with the rest of the windows and enhances the connection between indoor and outdoor living.
Designed to Blend In. Built to Stand Out.
From the start, this replacement project wasn’t about completely changing the look of the home—it was about preserving what the homeowners loved while upgrading comfort, efficiency and longevity. The completed project gave them the best of both worlds: wood windows that blend in seamlessly with the original aesthetic and advanced performance features that meet today’s standards.
The new windows and door are stain-matched and installed with updated trim, creating a consistent look across the new and existing parts of the home. And with durable materials and factory-installed blinds, the family now has a low-maintenance setup that’s ready for the next Kansas storm—or just everyday life.
