Located in a quiet neighborhood in historic Hartford, Connecticut sits a 1997 Cape Cod style home that was due for a renovation. The homeowners decided to give their home a full facelift and they found just what they needed with Pella® windows and doors.
White Windows Stand Out Against Blue Siding
One of the biggest and boldest changes of this home renovation was changing the exterior color of the home from a pale yellow to a rich dark blue. This change partnered with new white windows really made the exterior pop. The color contrast between the dark blue exterior and bright white of the windows offers a fresh take on this home and greatly contributes to curb appeal. With blue being a popular choice for Cape Cod style homes, this exterior update offers a modernized feel that still stays true to the history of this home style.
Wood Windows Deliver Excellent Energy Efficiency
In addition to updating the aesthetic of the home with new white windows, the main focus of this project was to eliminate drafts throughout the space which were making the homeowners uncomfortable. We recommended wood windows because wood is a natural insulator and helps to prevent leaks from adversely affecting the temperature of homes. Whether it’s the heat in the summer or the snow and cold of Connecticut winters, these properly installed wood windows with Low-E insulating glass help ensure the homeowners stay comfortable in their home.
Awning Window Offers a Burst of Natural Light in Kitchen
As much as these homeowners love to entertain throughout their home, they also spend a lot of time prepping and cooking and found that an absence of natural lighting in the space made it feel small. Entertaining was top of mind for these homeowners when they were selecting the type of kitchen window they wanted. We recommended an awning window to best suit their needs and this addition to their kitchen ended up being one of the homeowners’ favorite parts of the remodel.
With a freshly renovated place to call home, these homeowners can enjoy a new take on their Cape Cod classic. From bold color choices to rejuvenating natural lighting, their home is now a place of comfort and enjoyment.
