Project Details

The living room in this Coatesville, Pennsylvania home was starting to feel tired and old. The existing bow window with wood stain interior required large, bulky blinds which really darkened the space. The homeowners were ready to give their living room a face lift. They turned to Pella to modernize the room with a new bay window.

White Bay Window with Casements Provides More Light and Ventilation

After hearing the homeowners’ hope for a brighter living room, Pella recommended replacing the old bow window with a new Lifestyle Series bay window. This solution brought more glass in the window opening, letting in more natural light to cheer up the space. In addition, the new window is painted white instead of a dark wood stain. White windows brighten up the room, making it feel larger and more welcoming. The new casement windows on either side offer easy ventilation for a refreshing breeze.

Built-In Blinds for Less Bulk and Easy Cleaning

The new living room windows are bay windows with built-in blinds. This gives the homeowners easy control of sunlight that is allowed into the space. Between-the-glass blinds add extra privacy to the home and make cleaning much easier. The window fashions are tucked between panes of glass, protected from dust, damage and little hands. The homeowners selected white integrated blinds to match the windows and make a stylish statement from both the interior and street.

Energy-Efficient Glass Adds Comfort to Home

The new bay window with dual-pane glass is more energy efficient and helps the homeowners reduce their utility bill and add comfort to their home. The dual-pane windows use two panes of glass to slow conduction, or transfer of heat from inside to outside and vice versa. These windows also have a low-emissivity (Low-E) glass coating to further improve efficiency. In the winter, the Low-E coating reflects heat back into the room to keep it warmer. In the summer, it reflects heat away to keep the home cooler. These energy-efficient windows help block harmful UV rays to prevent furniture and flooring from fading. The homeowners were glad they selected windows that are designed to deliver excellent energy efficiency for savings and home comfort year-round.

Bay Window Transforms Living Room into Welcoming Space

The beautiful white bay window completely transforms the look and feel of this living room. It is so much brighter and brings the space to life in a new way. Guests now walk into a welcoming space that the homeowners are proud of show off. From more light and ventilation to easier cleaning and improved efficiency, these homeowners are ecstatic with the benefits a new bay window brought to their home.
