Bifold Patio Door and Windows Upgrade Virginia Beach Home

As the most populated city in Virginia, Virginia Beach is home to beautiful beaches and a bustling tourism industry. The humid subtropical climate of the area offers cool, mild winters and hot, humid summers. In the spirit of enjoying the coastal outdoors, we had the chance to work with a local homeowner to replace their old, hinged patio door and windows. We installed bifold patio doors and new casement windows to give this home an upgrade.

Bifold doors, also known as accordion doors, often act as a unique conversation piece in a home. These kinds of doors are commonly used in between entertainment spaces. This particular door acts as a beautiful transition from the indoors to the back patio area. Featuring three panels, one of which is a passage panel on the right, there are two ways this door can be used. The passage panel can act as a hinged door without opening the other two panels. If the homeowners didn’t want to open up the whole entryway, they could conveniently use the one panel of the door on the right. If they are looking to enjoy more of the nice weather on a warm Virginia day, the homeowners can also open the other two panels which fold like an accordion to the left to create a completely open and seamless doorway.

A more unique choice than traditional white windows, these tan windows contrast nicely with the darker brown brick exterior of the home. While the tan windows make a statement on their own, they also help work as accents to the true showpiece of this home, the black patio doors. The dark black of the patio doors pops against the lighter brown of the brick and the tan of the windows. The tan windows uniquely capture the aesthetic of the home without drawing too much attention away from the patio door.
