Gallery Test and Image Size Guide

This article lays out the maximum sizes for images used. Ratios are also listed to be used to reduce the size while keeping the ratio in tact.

This is only a HERO image size.

It can only be used as a single image and should not be used as a pair for Before/After.

In the gallery it would show them side-by-side and then much smaller.

Other sizes that hold the ratio:

958x538 // 762x429 // 568x378

if you click on the image to show in the gallery, you will see the reduction of size when-as a before and after-they are paired.

This is the max size for a horizontal HERO 4:3 image. This is only for the HERO.

It should not be used as a "Before & After" pair, since the gallery will reduce the size to fit.

It CAN be used as a pair of side-by-side images in the article but not Before & After, then the code would keep them separate in the gallery.

Other sizes: 958x637 // 762x506

Project Details

Article Body Images

Horizontal Images

Maximum "In-article" image display size for 4:3. 958x718.

A 1152x766 image could be added here which would display full size in the gallery, then reduced to 958x718 in the article body.

NOTE: this could be used as a Before & After pair, but the sizes would be reduced to fit inside the gallery view together.

Best practice: Use as a standalone, or as a pair that is not "Before & After"

Square Images

This is the maximum dimensions for a 1:1 Before & After image.

Other sizes: 568x568 // 374x374

This is the maximum dimensions for a 1:1 Before & After image.

Other sizes: 568x568 // 374x374

NOTE: If these are used as a "Before & After" pair they will show in the gallery as such as well. If you click on the gallery view you will see the height and width will still work for a best view.

This is the maximum dimensions for a 1:1 image.

Other sizes: 568x568 // 374x374

Vertical Images - Standard and Tall

As you can see below. The Vertical images will fit side-by-side.

NOTE: The top pair will demonstrate how they look in the gallery as a "Before & After" pair. The second pair demonstrates how they will look in the gallery as separate images.

This is the maximum size for a Vertical image. It would be the same for a before/after pairing, or 2 images side-by-side.

Other sizes: 471x708 // 276x368

This is the maximum size for a Vertical image. It would be the same for a before/after pairing, or 2 images side-by-side.

Other sizes: 471x708 // 276x368

This is the max vertical tall image size. It will remain the same size in the article body and the gallery.

For Two images side-by-side, they would be cut to the same size.

This is the max vertical tall image size. It will remain the same size in the article body and the gallery.

For Two images side-by-side, they would be cut to the same size.

Image Combinations

Square + Horizontal

Using different sized Images as pairs

The pair above demonstrates how the images will pull into the gallery as individual pairs. Height must be equal.

The Pair below demonstrates the effect if they two ares are paired as a "Before & After". Not only are the images small, but the wider image will be reduced and sit above the square, giving the impression they are not the same height.
