Located about 40 miles North of Springfield, the small farming community of Conway, Massachusetts has a population of just under 2,000 people. The community features many traditional-style homes on large farms. We met with the homeowners of a rustic cabin surrounded by a beautiful tree line. They wanted to replace their worn-down windows with new red windows to match their front door. We recommended wood casement windows to bring their vision to life.
Red Windows Add Pop of Color to Home
The old windows were neutral and easy to overlook. With the addition of the Brick Red color of the new window frames, the home's exterior has a much more cohesive look. The new windows complement the red front door and allow the entryway to shine while still providing a beautiful look against the wood paneling of the home. The red also works well with the updated, lighter wood color of the home.
Bow Window Replacement Elevates Traditional Style
The previous windows were falling into disrepair and the homeowner could see signs that the old frames were fading. Comprised of all casement windows, the new bow window features six panels that can all be opened to maximize airflow to the living room. Bow windows are a staple of traditional Massachusetts homes and offer unique curb appeal with timeless design elements. Protruding out from the house, the new window maximizes floor space for a seating nook.
Wood Windows Offer Lasting Beauty and Ample Performance Perks
To complement the rustic cabin feel of the home, our experts recommended a durable wood option for the new windows. Wood windows are a great choice as they offer a variety of customizable options while still delivering on durability. This unique red color is only available in Pella’s wood windows and doors. On the inside of the home, we stained the wood window frames to closely match the existing trim work for a cohesive look. As a natural insulator, wood windows are highly energy efficient and can help prevent leaks and airflow from affecting the temperature inside the home. With the large amounts of rain and snow that Conway experiences every year, having durable aluminum-clad wood windows that stand the test of time is a must for the homeowners.
Upon installation, the homeowners were stunned by the drastic transformation and improved curb appeal of their home. With unmatched design flexibility and quality, these new windows exceed the homeowners’ expectations. Our experts enjoyed working with the homeowners of this cabin to shine a spotlight on the beautiful natural wood exterior of their home.
