Window Serial Numbers

Casement and Awning Windows

Depending on the material of your window, serial numbers can be found in one of the following places:

Vinyl & Fiberglass: Label may be between the glass in the upper left or right corner.

Wood & Clad-Wood: Label may be between the glass or attached to the glass in the lower left or right corner.

Sliding Windows

For both vinyl and fiberglass sliding windows, serial numbers can be found in one of the following places:

Vinyl & Fiberglass: Label may be between the glass in the upper right corner or in the lower left or right corner.

Single- and Double-Hung Windows

Depending on the material of your window, serial numbers can be found in one of the following places:

Vinyl & Fiberglass: Label may be between the glass in the upper left or right corner.

Wood & Clad-Wood: Label may be between the glass, on the window frame or attached to the glass in the lower left or right corner.

Entry Door Serial Numbers

Entry Door with Sidelights

Serial numbers for entry doors can be found in one of the following places:

Top of Door: Label may be on the edge of the door near the top hinge.

Bottom of Door: Label may be on the lower left or right corner of the sidelight glass or the exterior sill of the door.

Entry Door Without Sidelights

Serial numbers for entry doors can be found in one of the following places:

Top of Door: Label may be on the edge of the door near the top hinge.

Bottom of Entry Door: Label may be on the exterior sill of the door.

Patio Door Serial Numbers

Hinged Patio Doors

Serial numbers can be found in one of the following places:

Wood & Clad-Wood: Label may be attached to the door panel above the handle or between the glass in the lower left or right corner on the interior or exterior of the door.

Sliding Patio Doors

Depending on the material of your door, serial numbers can be found in one of the following places:

Vinyl & Fiberglass: Label may be attached to the glass in the lower left or right corner or on the upper part of the interior side of the frame.

Wood & Clad-Wood: Label may be attached to the door panel above the handle or along the lower left or right corner of the glass.

Storm Door Serial Numbers

Storm Doors

Serial numbers for storm doors can be found in one of the following places:

Top of Door: Label may be on the hinge side of the mounting frame. You may need to open the storm door to view it. Or label may be found on the inside edge of the door, between the hinges.

Bottom of Door: Label may be on the lower left or right corner of the door.

Wood Products Purchased Before 2008

Products Purchased 1997 - 2008

Label is adhered to the glass (not to be confused with the glass etching) and may be a string of numbers and letters 50+ digits long. This unit ID identifies the brand, product and product attributes.

Products Purchased Prior to 1997

Look for a stamp on the sill with a product identity and date. The date stamp is located approximately 2-4 inches from one corner of the unit.
