Project Details

Built in 1979, this Chicago Tudor-style home looked dated with dark wood and brown brick. The homeowner’s low-quality vinyl windows had broken seals and moisture inside the glass, which could be found all throughout their home. When they realized something needed to be done, they looked to Pella for help.

New Energy-Efficient Fiberglass Windows Improve Comfort

The homeowner set two main goals when updating their windows: they wanted a solution that would reduce the drafts and boost their home’s curb appeal. The solution proved to be Pella® Impervia® fiberglass windows. These windows provide outstanding resistance to water, wind and outside noises all while increasing energy efficiency, security and ease of operation. Pella's proprietary fiberglass material is the strongest material for windows and patio doors, so the homeowner can trust the windows to last.16

Black Farmhouse Windows Add Striking Contrast Against White Exterior

The front of the home was transformed from dated Tudor to farmhouse style. To create the hallmark contrast in a farmhouse home, the homeowner painted the exterior of their home white. The choice of black windows adds striking contrast that provides the boost in curb appeal the homeowner desired.

Replacement Windows Improve Comfort and Curb Appeal

Durable fiberglass windows proved to be the perfect choice for this Chicago home. The homeowner now has a farmhouse-style home that is both stunning and energy efficient. The double-hung windows bring extra ventilation to the home and make cleaning easier thanks to sashes that tilt in for cleaning.
