An update from June, we check in with Jonathan on the progress of his tiny home.
Natalie Kolter’s passion for interior design and bringing life into the lack luster led her to launch My Vintage Porch, a home décor, design and fashion blog back in 2014. Today, she spends most of her time inspiring others and tackling new home renovation projects, and we couldn’t be more excited to take you behind-the-scenes of her current farmhouse winter wonderland.
One of the things we love about Natalie’s Instagram feed is that not only does she post beautifully inspiring images that challenge us to ramp up our interior decorating game, but she also posts images of her beloved dog, Chester (who we think is just as gorgeous as her home!). Here, Chester is pictured in the family room next to a freshly flocked Christmas tree that has us singing to the tune of “White Christmas.”
Because guest bedrooms tend to be neglected when decorating for the season, Natalie encourages homeowners to go the extra mile and do something unique in the space. A simple evergreen, or vintage wall prints like the ones pictured above are a great place to start.
Although the master bedroom and bathroom section of the home is not explicitly decorated for the Christmas season, the dreamy white décor makes you feel like you’re still walking in a winter wonderland. The best part about the master bedroom? Natalie just finished remodeling it earlier this fall! The tufted headboard and elegant chandelier bring a hint of luxury to her charming farmhouse styled home.
Our last stop on the home tour is of another guest bedroom, where Natalie not only made the “joy” sign above the bed, but added two stockings and seasonal throw pillows to give a cozy, Christmas feel to the space. Another fan-favorite feature of this room, and many other rooms in Natalie’s home, is the rug Chester is so affectionately sleeping on. Throw rugs like these are a simple addition that can make a big statement while adding dimension and personality to any space, regardless of the season.
